Official Signing of Diplomatic Relations between Cook Islands and Samoa

The official signing of diplomatic relations between Samoa and the Cook Islands took place in Auckland on 30th August 2013. The agreement will assist in strengthening relations between Samoa and the Cook Islands allowing for both Polynesian nations to work closely together in areas of common interest and of mutual benefit both at a regional and international level. The agreement was signed by the Prime Minsiters of both nations, Samoan Prime Minister, Hon Tuilaepa Lupesoliai Sailele Malielegaoi and Prime Minister of Cook Islands, Hon Henry Puna. The signing was followed by a reception hosted by the Cook Islands High Commission and was attended by prominent members of the New Zealand Cook Islands and Samoan communities.
