23 May 2013 The Samoan High Commission played host to diplomats for the Asia-Pacific region for the Asia-Pacific Lunch. Held quarterly, the Asia-Pacific Lunch is an opportunity to strengthen relations between member countries in the region. During his address, the High Commissioner, H.E Leasi Papalii T Scanlan highlighted Samoa’s role in hosting the upcoming SIDS meeting. The meeting will bring together representatives from 143 countries to discuss environmental issues and will be the largest event to be hosted by Samoa. The High Commissioner encouraged his counterparts to support Samoa during this historical event.
