26th June - 4th July 2013 His Highness the Head of State of Samoa, Tui Atua Tupua Tamasese Efi travelled to New Zealand to attend the Sir Pomare Maui Commemorations in New Plymouth. The two day celebration recognised the historical ties between the Taisi and Pomare family. The Head of State delivered a speech on the history of the two families which was well received by the Pomare family. During his Highness's visit the High Commissioner and office hosted a dinner in honour of the Head of State's visit, which members of the Diplomatic Corp were also invited to attend.
