Scholarship students guests of honour

Scholarship students studying at Victoria University were guests at a luncheon hosted at the Samoa High Commission. The annual event which aims to welcome new and returning scholarship students was attended by 30 students and the Victoria University Pacific Liasion team. The scholarship scheme is part of the NZAID programme which currently awards Samoan Foundation students full scholarships to study at New Zealand Universities. Six new students are enrolled at Victoria University. The High Commissioner during his remarks stressed to the students the importance of completing their studies and return to Samoa to serve whether in the public or private sectors. Plans are underway for the High Commissoner to visit other New Zealand University campuses where scholarship students are currently based.
