On Monday 14th August 2023, the Samoa High Commissioner, H.E. Afamasaga Faamtalaupu Toleafoa paid a courtesy call to the Ambassador of the Republic of Korea, H.E. Kim Chang-sik. The Ambassador of the Republic of Korea conveyed congratulations to High Commissioner for presenting his credentials last week to the New Zealand Governor General. High Commissioner Afamasaga also conveyed his appreciation for the warm reception and shared his sentiments on the importance in the developments of Samoa-Korea relations. In particular, last year the Korean Embassy paid a visit to Samoa in celebrating 50 years of Korea-Samoa diplomatic relations. This followed by several mission visit from Korea in furthering matters of mutual interest such as maritime, fisheries, education, and tourism. High Commissioner Afamasaga also conveyed his appreciation to the Korean Embassy on the development aid assistance with the demands from regional/international bodies in development cooperation in the Pacific.
