Marist Old Timers Day Lunch and Launch of the Book ‘”C’MON RED”

Last Saturday 25th July, the Samoa High Commissioner (HE Leasi Papali'i Scanlan) & Mrs Joyce Scanlan attended the 'Marist Old Timers Day' lunch to launch the book written by Mr Tim Donoghue to commemorate the 50th Anniversary of the amalgamation of Marist and Saint Pats Old Boys Clubs in 1970. According to the many Guest Speakers, the book "C'mon Red" is a brief & accurate account of the successful, interesting and challenging 50-year history of Marist St Pats. Following the lunch, the Old Timers and Guests watched the Red Machine Premiers narrowly beat tough rivals OBU 22 -18 in a bruising match at Evans Park.
Among the many Guests that attended this Special Occasion were former Presidents of Marist St Pats Club, several Club Legends, Dame Luamanuvao Winnie Laban & Peter Swain, the Ambassador of Ireland (HE Peter Ryan), Mr Paul Eagle and Cai Michelle & Neville Baker. The Samoa High Commissioner and Special Guests were presented with autographed copies of the Book. The current President of the Club, Afioga Tunumafono Ken Ah Kuoi, was the Master of Ceremony for the day.
