Annual get together for Samoan Scholarship Students, Victoria University

The Samoa High Commission hosted its annual luncheon for its scholarship students from Victoria University on Saturday 22 March 2014. Over 30 scholarship students attended the get together and nine of these students were first year students. The High Commissioner welcomed the students and lecturers as well as three PhD students from the National University of Samoa also studying at Victoria University. Mr Scanlan congratulated the new and current students on becoming the selected few to receive these awards. He encouraged them to make good use of these rare opportunities and emphasized the importance of returning to Samoa at the end of their programme to work at the public or private sectors. There are currently 31 scholarship students that are enrolled at Victoria University from Samoa and eight final year students are expected to graduate in May this year.
