Launching of the new Samoa Capital Radio Office

The New Office of the Samoa Capital Radio (SCR) was launched in Porirua this morning, 30 September 2020. The Office Site was first blessed by a Rangatira from Ngati Toa, Kaumatua Taku Parai, followed by the cutting of the ribbon to the office by the Chairperson of the SCR, Mrs Fereni Ete. Rev Elder Malaki Muaiava then conducted the thanksgiving service which was attended by many Reverend Ministers and Official Guests. The Service was followed by congratulatory speeches by the Mayor of Porirua (Her Worship - Anita Baker) and the Samoa High Commissioner (HE Leasi Papali’i Scanlan). In his speech, HE Leasi not only congratulated the Chairperson, Board and Management on this Milestone but he also acknowledged, with appreciation, the valuable service provided by the SCR to the Samoan Community over the past many years.
He complimented the SCR on the unbiased nature that they have continued to carry out their programs and reporting, making sure to leave politics to the Politicians! His Excellency also congratulated Management on the use of social media (like face-book) for their programs but he warned to be careful about attracting negative comments which could cause harm to some of the their listeners and innocent members of the public.
