New Zealand Samoa Trade and Invest Conference Auckland

High Commissioner Leasi attended the annual general meeting of the New Zealand Samoa Trade and Invest Commission in Auckland last week on Thursday, 1st October 2015. The High Commission addressed the conference and provide feedback on the recently signed Double Tax Agreement between Samoa and New Zealand on 8 July 2015. This is the first DTA to be signed by Samoa and any other country. Ms Carmel Peters, lead negotiator for the Government of New Zealand for the DTA also attended the Conference to address the same issue from the New Zealand side. High Commissioner Leasi in his address pinpointed the benefits of the DTA for Samoa as well as New Zealand for business and investment. Both countries are finalising their internal procedures before the DTA comes into effect early next year.
