The Samoa High Commissioner H.E Leasi Papali'i Scanlan hosted the first meeting of the Pacific Islands Head of Missions Meeting on 1st May 2015. Held quarterly, the meeting allowed for Pacific Head of Missions and staff to network and discuss issues of mutual interests. The PIHOM group welcomed new members Tuvalu and Solomon Islands who recently established their offices in Wellington. The PIHOM also had a guest speaker at the meeting Mr Joe Fuavao, Trade and Research Manager from Pacific Trade and Invest to update each mission on development on Trade matters and other activities carried out by PTI in the Pacific. The group thanked Mr Fuavao for his informative presentation and for the dialogue to continue between PIHOM and PTI. The group also farewelled Mr Morea Veratau, Deputy Head of Mission of Papua New Guinea who will complete his term at the end of May. Next PIHOM meeting will be hosted by Papua New Guinea in June.
