On 16th May 2023 the Samoa Tourism Authority hosted a roadshow event at the Intercontinental Hotel in Wellington inviting Samoan hotel/accommodation agents to meet with Wellington based travel agents with the purpose of furthering the Samoa tourism sector. The event was opened with brief remarks of welcome from the Chief Executive Officer of Samoa Tourism Authority, Mrs. Pativaine Petaia -Tevita conveying gratitude towards the travel agent representatives to network with the Samoan hotel/accommodation agents. In her remarks, she shared on the importance of the tourism sector in Samoa and with hopes for tourism promotional events to further Samoa's profile as a popular travel destination. Later the Vice Consul (Tourism), Sonny Rivers delivered a presentation on Samoa's tourism sector sharing the opportunities and tourism prospects. The travel agents were divided into groups of three to meet with each hotel/accommodation representatives from Samoa. The Tautua dance group provided entertainment in between sessions. The Acting High Commissioner, Mr. Robert Niko Aiono; First Secretary, Mrs. Lise Aberina Taualoa and spouse of Acting High Commissioner, Mrs. Uasami Aiono attended the roadshow in support of the tourism event. The roadshow will continue in Hamilton before concluding in Auckland.
