During his August visit, Prime Minister Hon Tuilaepa Lupesoliai Sailele Malielegaoi encouoraged the High Commission to support initiatives that developed Samoan provinical rugby players. Therefore when approached to support the first New Zealand Samoa provincial rugby tournament, the office responded by donating a Trophy for the annual competition. This year’s tournament took place in Palmerston North on 2nd November and was officially opened by the High Commissioner H.E Leasi Papalii Scanlan. Wanganui, Horowhenua and Palmerston North all competing for the top prize.
