Mission fundraiser supports boys in blue

A fundraiser dinner to support the Manu Samoa Sevens team was held at Pipitea Marae on 29th January 2013. Hosted by the Samoa High Commission in partnership with the Ulalei Wellington Club, the sold out event was attended by New Zealand Members of Parliament Hon. Bill English, MP Peseta Sam Lotu-Iiga, Government officals and several members of the Diplomatic Corp. The sold out event was well attended by the Wellington Samoa community who took the opportunity to get up close and personal with members of the team. Some winning giveaway tickets on the night to support the boys in blue at the two day competition. The evening featured performances by local Samoan talent and was ably emceed by the well-known entertainer and Laughing Samoan Tofiga Fepuleai. High Commissioner H.E Leasi Papalii Tommy Scanlan who gave the key note address, took the opportunity to thank the Wellington Samoan community for their support before co-presenting the monetary gifts to the team. The night concluded with the traditional war dance performed by the Manu Samoa 7s team.
